Scotland A Pure European Charm
It had always beyond my imagination that one day I would grab a train from London's King's Cross Station and my destination would be none other than Scotland. As anticipated 9/3/4 platform appeared heaved of heads, who were looking forva single opportunity to embrace their neck with Gryffindor scurf , to hold Harry Potter's wand and preserve this precious moment in their phones forever.
However after that diversion, we went past this tourist hotspot station to catch our Lumo train to witness Edinburgh the capital city of Scotland. Now let's dive into the realm of Lumo which as per my knowledge, costs as much as a flight if not more I am afraid. Its worth of that trust me. Blue sleek modelled train will drag you into its lucrative indoors which is adorned with skeek, good looking chairs and mirror like translucent floor and surfaces. The most amazing aspect to me seemed its enormous windows and flight like indoor ambiance. Really another aspiration of riding an European train is ticked off finally.
If your budget is not tight, I would suggest you to experience this ride once and it will not disappoint you, you can count on me for that reason. It will transport you to the breathtaking realm of Edinburgh in four hours. I can assure your back will not get hurt for the long ride, the journey is that comfortable in this joyride. You will get immersed into the natural beauty of outside when lush green rolling hills remain appearing again and again, transgressing your thought process in some romantic arena. You tell me how can one soak herself in the enormous collection of Kindle in train while all of a sudden limitless pristineblue north sea emerged out of nowhere only to mesmerize your likelihood. However, this way we emerged at our destination with a rejuvinated soul and geared up to soak in some more valuable moments embedded with fresh air and unanticipated sunlights.
To our utter astonishment, we witnessed a tram in Edinburgh, which we never came across before in a foreign country. Undoubtedly, without wasting a single moment we opted for the tram as our prime transporter to deliver us at our already booked shelter ; Travelodge. Here, let me acknowledge that Travelodge is the ultimate stay to recommend you anywhere in the world; for its unprecedentedly amazing service and hospitality ofcourse. It's distance from the town centre acts as a positive catalyst, to consider it as your temporary address there in Edinburgh. The moment I set my feet over my allocated room, my jaw dropped literally having the first glance of the its enormity. I had never perceived such a vibrant, spacious and airy room like this in my previous experiences. The spectacular view from the window was worth gazing at. If you are an Indian, then you would jump on your feet, finding handshower in the washroom, you know the reason obviously. Everything appeared just perfect to me.
Rolling over the next day, after completion of a sumptuous, lip smacking Scottish breakfast at the hotel itself, with a fulfilled tummy and a satiated soul stepped into a tram to visit the Edinburgh Castle. It took us barely ten minutes to reach our destination. Before entering the castle Edinburgh gallery stole our attention and for a sneak peek of this place, we peeked into the galleryfor abrief time and went through the marvellous and quaint collection of modern art. Gathering a remarkable expeirience, we set off heading towards the castle which is nestled upon a hill. It took quite a fuel for us to mount the hill with a buggy consisting of our sleeping child. I was literally panting when finally reached its gateway. You will gander at the spectacular 360 degrees view this castle is embroidered with. North Sea waved at us far from the forest of concretes. If you are a sea person like me, then you will be able to comprehend water’s invitation to witness it and embrace it at the same time. However, escaping myself from the seas dormant invitation, I concentreted in my purposeful destination, the Edinburgh castle. The moment I emerged there l understood that I had traversed myself into the arena of history which encapsulates thousands of years. This place had witnessed so many bloody battles among nations. Though I can comprehend this history generates goosebumps among the residents of uk, but it didn't move me much, as it seemed to me the history of tyranny. Nevertheless, we peeked into every museum nestled in various levels of the castle depicting those histories only to accomplish the syllabus. Amongst all these aspects I found fascinating mostly, its prison, demonstrating its horrifying life. I got spellbound for some time, the moment Iwas ushered into these prisons for its profound effect on me. Authority has organised these prisons in such a make-believe manner, that it will transport you to its contemporary time. Prisoners mostly military men s used to spend their imprisoned day to day lives in such a gloomy manner that it will give you goosebumps. It kept hovering over my mind even after I had exited this place. In the next leg of our visit, we hit the section of the museum where precious jewels have been preserved for centuries. It was indeed an awestricken moment, as we kept on marveling at those dazzling jewelries for its lustrous grandeur. However, we wrapped up this chapter of visiting this castle thereafter.
Hope you have enjoyed this enthralling experience of mine and planning to explore it sometimes in future. Here I must incorporate one matter that, if you are a history buff then don't digress yourself from grabbing the official souvenir guide book of Edinburgh Castle from the museum bookshop in a nominal amount.
