Vibrant Occassion

It's been almost two weeks since our Durga ma left her parental home. Melancholy is prevailing all round. We all have started countdown for the arrival of next year durga puja.All are looking forward to ma when will she come and eradicate all our languishes,instead will fill in our hearts with new inspiration, joy, excitements. Durga puja is the most awaited ceremony for us, Bengalis.

This time durga puja has been the most special one for me,as it is the first year puja after my marriage.Much before its arrival I had planned my five days activities in my mind.Like, which dress would be the most suitable one for me on the particular day, how many pandals we would like to cover on a single day etc.Though I was having so many plans in my head but was a bit anxious for the weather, as according to the weather forecast the five days of puja were going to wash away by heavy showers.Nevertheless, keeping aside all those negative warnings I prepared myself to merge with the ecstasy of upcoming puja days in a full fledged way with  an overflowing vigor.On Panchomi that means the first day of Durga puja celebration, I commenced Pandal hopping with my in-laws and a little friend of mine,Raj. On that day we covered five notable Puja pandals of Saltlake like FD block,Ak block,BJ block etc.We were mesmerized by the heavenly artifacts of the pandals. In the afternoon we had our Puja special lunch in a sea food special restaurant at Sector V, where my husband also accompanied us.It was literally a ''bhunri-bhoj". Beginning from Panchomi I started wearing my new attires.On the next day called Shasthi, I went to explore the traditional pujas of North kolkata with my husband and Raj but being a little bit discontended we came back our home as as we had the glimpse of  very few of them as most of those pandals were unbelievably jam packed.Saptomi turned up an interesting day.We celebrated this day at China Town with a lot of amusements with my sister-in-laws and brother-in-law.Next came the most significant day Ashtomi.This whole day was packed up with various affairs.Firstly Anjali was dedicated to the goddess,then me with my husband started South Calcutta pandal hoppings,accompanied by my parents ignoring the gloomy weather.Having the opportunity of visiting the most renowned pandals of Calcutta,we had an ecstatic feelings.We spent that night at my parental home.Nabomi night was totally different.Nabomi night provided me a splendid opportunity to have a view of "Dhunuchi nach" at our local Pandal.Then with my whole family we went to watch Mishwar Rahasya in night show at Highland Park,Fame.We were immensely entertained there.It was almost 1'o clock at the night,we returned home. Finally arrived the concluding day of Durga puja,that is Dashomi.My first time experience of "Thakur boron" was unutterably splendid. Atlast the ultimate time appeared, when we payed fairwell to Durga ma for this year with tears in our eyes.We went to have a view of Goddess's immersion in a nearby lake to bid her good bye.All along Durga Puja this year came out to be a very delightful event.

I hope every year  this puja will bring different kind of enjoyment in all of our lives.I pray that Durga ma's blessings always bestow upon us and protect us from all kind of evils.
