Day back and forth

Milanda was that gentleman who used to distribute, hand over foods and assemble money with utmost honesty and diligence at his much renowned canteen named after his own name, Milanda's Canteen situated at Jadavpur university Arts orbit. It feels so weird today to address this person in past tense as he passed away all of a sudden. It seems  yesterday, when Milanda's canteen used to be my ultimate destination during lunch break. Much tempted Rumali roti and egg curry were my favorites and became an integral part of my regular lunch menu. Then, twelve rupees was the price. I can remember so clearly, when Milanda or his wife, our so called Boudi, used to deliver the plate full of egg curry and roti, how I plunged into this tempting meal ignoring every sort of muttering of gossips surrounding me. Oh! I just forgot to mention the most popular item they sell at Milanda, is Dhoper chop and again this was the very first item I bought from there. I even, didn't know about it's far reached fame at that time. Nevertheless, I became a regular customer of this canteen after witnessing its neat and clean ambience and off course it's tempting dishes. It has come into my knowledge that, Milanda had undergone severe  struggles in order to make his profession a success and the rest is history. Hence, I can only say that despite being unable to be present physically at his homage, virtually I am praying for his soul to rest in peace.
